Will Writing

Age Concern Harrow has teamed up with a firm of local solicitors (Turbervilles Solicitors) to provide a will writing service at a reduced rate.

Why make a will?

By making a will, you will ensure that your property and possessions are distributed as you would wish.

You can appoint, as executors, people whom you trust to respect your wishes and to ensure that they are dealt with as soon as possible.

It is important to remember that you can make changes to your will at any time and this can often be done by means of a simple codicil. However it is easier to do this if the will is professionally drawn up.

How much will it cost?

The service is:

Free to members of Age Concern Harrow on low income. For this purpose, low income is defined as £75 per week for a single person and £120 per week for a married couple after housing and care costs have been paid.
For a single person the cost is £58.75 including VAT.
For a couple making a simple mirror will, the cost is £82.25 including VAT.
Where the estate is in excess of £200,000 clients will be referred directly to the solicitors as specialist estate/tax planning issues may arise.

Who can use the service?

The service is available to anyone aged 60+ living in the Borough of Harrow.

The service is available in three ways:

By appointment at the Age Concern Harrow office on alternate Tuesday afternoons.
By appointment at the solicitors office.
By appointment at home for those who are housebound.

The service is confidential and you will remain a client of the solicitor at all times.
