Working with and for the older people of Harrow.
There's more to fundraising than simply raising money. We want children to have a positive learning experience:
If you need a new sports hall, a classroom refurbished or money for a school trip, working with Age Concern Harrow is a great way to raise funds - when you fundraise you can split the money between Age Concern Harrow and your school.
Choosing a Charity of the
Year helps to focus the fundraising efforts of your school. Schools
choosing a Charity of the Year tend to fundraise only for that charity
throughout the year.
Some schools, however, may choose more than one Charity of the Year in a
given year, perhaps supporting an international, a national and a local
charity.
Many schools then concentrate their main fundraising push into one week,
putting on a large number of different events. For example, a school might
have an event on stage every lunchtime (a talent show, an auction, a
'Blind Date' show) along with sponsored sports events, raffles, sales,
competitions and quizzes happening at a variety of venues and times during
the week.
Some schools spread their fundraising events over the whole year. You
could stage a Harvest Festival and Christmas Collection in the Autumn term
followed by an Easter Egg Hunt and other seasonal events throughout the
rest of the year.
