Community Care

What is Community Care?

Community Care is the combination of services and resources that a person needs to live their lives as independently as possible. This can include housing, benefits, leisure, educational opportunities and social services.

For most people, 'community care' means the support they need to remain at home. However, some people need higher levels of support provided in a residential care home or a nursing home.

Accessing Services

Those who need help with their personal care may choose to pay for their services privately. However, many ask Social Services to assess their needs and then decide eligibility for services and the level of need.
